Types of care provided
Ambition 24Direct provides care in the following areas:
Cancer Care
Ambition 24Direct provides 24-7 home support, including live-in care, for patients of all ages who are undergoing cancer treatment. Specialist nurses and carers will help patients and their families with their medical and care needs, in liaison with the GP and other health care providers. A national and international service is available.
Mental Health
Specialist nurses and support workers are trained and experienced in dealing with a range of mental health issues for patients of all age groups. Care and medication plans are developed in coordination with social services, PCTs and other relevant organisations, to ensure each patient’s needs are fully met for care and safety. Overnight support is available too.
Rehabilitation
After a stay in hospital, care can be provided for a patient’s return home, with care plans offering support - from 4 hours to 24-hours a day, with live-in attendance, for as many days as required. Help with personal care and simple domestic tasks is available, through to more specialist medical assistance, provided by qualified nurses, including physiotherapy. Rehabilitation programmes are developed for patients of any age, according to abilities and care needs.
Eating Disorders
Specialist nurses and care workers are available to provide help and support in the home. Many staff have worked in major clinics offering treatment for eating disorders: staff are therefore experienced in implementing hospital plans and working together with other health care organisations and professionals, as well families, in the best interests of the patient and family. Support in the home, out of the hospital setting, is available from 4 hours for as long and often as required, both day and night and at weekends.
Paediatric Care
Specialist nurses and carers are trained in caring for babies and older children who may require medical attention, support or supervision for a few days or for longer periods, including overnight. Ambition 24Direct provides the additional care and reassurance that worried parents often want in order to meet the continuing needs of a sick child - whether with viral, post-operative, disability, behavioural or other care needs.
